BantuNomics is the operating name of 3 Mega LLC, a Georgia, USA company established in 2019. We build foundational infrastructure for Bantu languages — starting at the syllable and working up.
Most language-AI work begins with text at scale. For Bantu languages that text does not exist in the quantities the approach needs, and gathering it first would take decades. So we start lower down: with each language's operating alphabet — the complete, closed set of syllables it actually uses.
That primitive is finite, verifiable and permanent. Once a language has one, every layer above it — numbers, nouns, verbs, grammar, clinical vocabulary, connected speech — can be built on something solid rather than inferred from scraps. It is why we call a Full Syllable Inventory infrastructure and not a dataset: it is not measured by volume, and it does not go stale.
Every recording in the corpus comes from a native speaker working through amina.ai, our contributor platform. Contributors are paid, and give explicit, versioned consent to how their voice may be used. Speaker identities are de-identified before anything reaches a licensee.
This is a deliberate constraint and it costs us speed. A language corpus built without the consent of the people who speak it is not one worth having.
BantuNomics is not separately staffed. It is built by the founding team of 3 Mega LLC — five founders whose expertise spans research, engineering, operations, capital and academia. Rather than keep a second, drifting copy of that here, we point at the one that is maintained.
Coverage counts, recording totals and language tiers are computed from the live corpus rather than written into the page, because they change as work lands. If a figure here differs from one you saw last month, the newer one is right.
